New: Communications Consultant

Respond to Racism in Lake Oswego is hiring a Communications Consultant. The Communications Consultant is responsible for conveying the organization’s mission in RtR’s messaging. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Communications Consultant will craft messaging and utilize RtR’s email, website and social media platforms to inform the Lake Oswego community about RtR events, relevant antiracist activities and opportunities for advocacy and antiracism related news in Lake Oswego and the region, as well as nationally and internationally when relevant. Applications due by August 31, 2024.

Board Members

Respond to Racism in Lake Oswego is looking for new board members! We seek proactive, justice-minded individuals who align with our mission to educate and empower LO residents with the tools to combat racism in all its forms and make LO and Oregon a better place for people of all ethnicities.

Board members should have demonstrated experience in antiracism work, be able to work collaboratively (including giving and receiving feedback) and understand that de-centering whiteness is a core tenet of effective antiracist organizing. Committee Members

Respond to Racism will be hosting four work sessions for the board, leadership, YEC, and volunteers during August and September. 

In addition to aligning our approach and activities with our mission and theory of change, the goal is also to form and activate four new committees:

  1. Direct Action
  2. Fundraising
  3. Community Building
  4. Research and Data Collection
