Community Meeting: The Gutting of DEI and What We Can Do About It

When

Oct 2
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where

Lake Oswego United Church of Christ
1111 Country Club Road, Lake Oswego , Oregon

We are in the midst of a national pushback and dismantling of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work, and Lake Oswego and Clackamas County are not exempt. While more overt efforts to demonize DEI get more news coverage, campaigns to defund, undermine and/or whitewash DEI are just as pervasive and destructive. This workshop will explore what the gutting of DEI looks like, why it’s so harmful and how we can take action in Lake Oswego and Clackamas County.

Bruce Poinsette is a writer, educator and community organizer whose work is primarily based in the Portland Metro Area. He has worked with Respond to Racism since 2017 and is a Lake Oswego High School Class of 2007 alumni.
