DESCRIPTION:Respond to Racism LO is providing a free training for volunteer
 s interested in being facilitators for future RtR community meetings and o
 ther programming.\nThis in-person training will take place at Lake Oswego 
 United Church of Christ. There will be two sessions\, one for High School 
 students and one for Respond to Racism volunteers.\n\nNovember 11\, 2023\n
 High School students - noon-1:30pm\nRespond to Racism volunteers - 3:00pm-
 4:30pm\nUse this link to sign up for the training\nThis 90-minute training
  session\, "Conscious and Compassionate Conflict Resolution"\, will be fac
 ilitated by Barry Johnson-Smith and focus on tough conversations around r
 acism. Customized for Lake Oswego\, this workshop is designed to empower p
 articipants with the tools to facilitate difficult but necessary conversat
 ions about antiracism and specifically respond to the microaggressions and
  overt racism that often arise in these spaces.\nEach session has a maximu
 m capacity of 25 participants. All participants will receive gift cards fo
 r their time and students will also receive certificates of completion tha
 t can be used towards volunteer hours.\n\nBy completing this training\, pa
 rticipants will become eligible to be facilitators for future Respond to R
 acism community meetings and events.\n
